Accra, Oct. 26, GNA - An Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday remanded into prison custody a 50-year-old labourer for defiling his 15-year-old daughter. Samuel Ahenkora charged with incest and defilement, pleaded not guilty. He is to reappear on November 9.
Prosecuting Inspector Isaac A. A. Ahor told the court that the complainant was Ahenkora's wife and stepmother of the victim. Ahenkora, the complainant as well as the victim lived in the same room at Aplaku, a village near Accra.
The prosecution said on October 4, this year, at about 2200 hours, while Ahenkora and his wife were sleeping in their storeroom, the accused decided later he was going to sleep with the victim and another person in the bedroom.
Ahenkora's wife trailed him and found Ahenkora defiling his daughter and, therefore, raised the alarm.
The following day, the wife confronted the victim who also confessed. Ahenkora, however, did not take kindly to his wife's behaviour and assaulted her after a quarrel. A report was made to the Police and Ahenkora was arrested but he denied the offence.
