The Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) last saturday held its 23rd matriculation ceremony at the Main Campus of the institution at Tesano in Accra.

The matriculation ceremony officially inducted a total of nine hundred and twenty nine (929) students pursuing certificate, diploma and degree programmes for the September intake of the 2018 academic year.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Isaac Abeku Blankson, the Vice President of GTUC, noted that honesty is key to the institution, and it will be maintained by fishing out fake results submitted by students.

“I wish to bring to your attention the importance of honesty and integrity in our institution. GTUC frowns on dishonest conduct and in this regard the University College will verify all results submitted at the entry level. Our university prides itself with integrity, excellence and academic freedom as key core values that guide us in principle and in life. I will also encourage all students to learn hard to write exams that will be devoid of malpractice and dishonesty”.

He added that the newly admitted students must excel in all disciplines of the university college.

“My advice to you is simple; take full advantage of GTUC. Apart from academics, you should also make an effort to excel in various co-curricular activities of the University and represent GTUC in all the activities. Let us make a commitment on this day to maintain a friendly and cordial relationship with each other and make this University College proud by being disciplined, punctual and giving of your best in all fields. These experiences and many others you will have during your time here, will prepare you to make your mark on the world. I look forward to getting to know you in the coming years as our students, and for decades to come as our alumni”.

Speaking on behalf of the matriculants, Richard Kotei Djane stated his colleagues have committed to be law abiding students.

“On behalf of all fresh students, I would like to assure management that as long as we stay under the umbrella of GTUC, we would contribute the last of everything we can offer to make this legacy a generational one and to continue running the good race with the mantle that has been passed on to us by our predecessors.

“To all our lecturers, we look forward to building the best student-teacher relationship with you and that we would make your efforts worthwhile”, he stated.
