Gomoa Central is posed to boost revenue mobilization --- DCE

The Gomoa Central District Chief Executive, Hon. Benjamin Kojo Otoo has hinted that the Assembly was posed of revenue mobilization to facilitate its development agenda.

He has had therefore stressed the need for all hands on deck to realize the vision and mission.

Since the District was curved out from the then Gomoa East District Assembly, its revenue generation seems to be decreasing hence the need to sought for others sources to fill the gap.

To this end the Assembly intend expanding the existing market centers and open new ones for economic activities and generate revenue.

The Assembly is therefore expanding ABEA Central Market at Gomoa Aboso to attract traders and other businesses scatted in the district and beyond.

Addressing the traders at the inauguration of ABEA Central Market at Aboso last Wednesday, Hon. Benjamin Kojo Otoo noted that the Assembly would construct ultramodern market for the four communities adding it would become a leading business center on the vicinity.

" Our interest is to create conducive environment for economic activities and to generate revenue for the Assembly.

We cannot rely solely on the Common Fund to carry out development projects aimed at improving the lives of the people.

Construction would soon began for the new market which would accelerate business activities thereby empowering the people economically.

Let me thank Nananom for their advise and support towards this project. The Assembly is highly grateful to them for their encouragement.

As His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana has been saying, we should be citizens but not spectators sitting on the fence but contributing our quota towards the development of the Gomoa Central District"

Nana Odum Amanfo IV, Chief of Gomoa Akropong No.2 on behalf of Nananom in Aboso-Benso-Ekroful-Akropong popularly known as 'ABEA' pledged to support the Assembly to boost its revenue mobilization to enhance infrastructure development.

" The Gomoa Central District Assembly led by its DCE, Hon. Benjamin Kojo Otoo assisted by Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central constituency has been cooperative with Nananom when it comes development planning.

This cooperation has enabled Nananom the opportunity to partake in the development of the district. This is good governance.

I want to say kudos to DCE and the MP for their cordial relationship with Nananom and the people as a whole"

Later in an interview, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Hon. Naana Eyiah Quansah noted that apart from construction of market centers to boost economic activities of the people, modern toilets and borehole facilities are also been constructed in the constituency.

" These modern toilets and borehole facilities would be fixed with solar panels to generate lights for the toilets and power stress Free boreholes.

These are been provided upon request from the beneficial communities. To bring good governance to the doorsteps of the people, my humble self and Assembly has been holding series of Town hall Meetings to listen to the urgent needs of every community. The end results is provision of the social amenities.

We will continue to engage the people to enable them feel the change they voted for during the 2016 general elections.

Hon. Naana Eyiah Quansah lauded Nana Addo for the Free SHS policy which has paved way for students from the remotest towns and villages access to top schools they never dreamt in their life time.

" Am more that happy that over 50 JHS students have been offered admission into Mfantsiman, Wesley Girls, Achimota, St. Augustine College, Prempeh College and other Senior High schools thanks to Nana Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana and the Free SHS Policy.

I have given all that they would be needed to start schooling. These include chop boxes, trunks, student's size mattresses among others to enable them stick to their books.
