Member of Parliament for Agona West constituency, Hon. Mrs. Cynthia Morrison has handed over a renovated 6-unit classroom block to authorities of Upper Bobikuma Presbyterian Basic School to enhance effective teaching and learning.

Speaking at a durbar organized by the chiefs and people for the handling over ceremony, Hon. Mrs. Cynthia Morrison said she was highly alarmed at the deplorable nature of the then classroom block which was been used by the Primary Department of the school.

She noted that His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP government's Free Senior High School policy aimed at ensuring that every child in Ghana gets at least a Secondary education.

" The government policies on education starts from the Kindergarten level which is the foundation of basic education.

There is therefore the need for creation of conducive environment for effective teaching and learning. This include classroom blocks, learning materials and skilled teaching staff.

Today's handing over ceremony is to encourage pupils, teachers, parents and the entire people in the communities to raise standard of education.

As we all know, education is the key for development. It's the main key towards poverty eradication. So as stakeholders in education, let put our hands in deck to ensure that our children attain height in the educational ladder"

The Agona West Member of Parliament who has been appointed Minister Designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection pledged her support towards the development of the Agona West constituency and Ghana as whole.

" I want to thank Nananom for their unflinching support. Am grateful and humbled by this kind gesture am enjoying as an associate citizen of Upper Bobikuma.

We shall all work together towards provision of social amenities to improve living standard of the people"

The Agona West Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service, Madam Elizabeth Helen Essel lauded Mrs. Morrison for renovating the block which was had become a death trap.

She tasked school authorities to ensure culture of maintenance adding the block ought to be beneficial to the communities.

The Agona West Constituency Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kojo Addo assured the people that governments would continually provide the needs of the community.

He therefore called on the people to rally behind the MP to enable her implement her vision and mission for the constituency.

Chief Agona Bobikuma-Upper, Nana Antwi Buabeng XI was full of praise for the MP and the NPP government.

He pledged the commitment of the people towards infrastructure development in the community adding they were ever ready to offer communal labour to facilitate early completion of projects in the vicinity.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lucky Group of Companies , Mr. George Gyamfi pledged 20 bags of cement for construction of a descent bathroom for the school.
