Tain District Gets Nurses Quarters

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tain, Madam Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh, has cut the sod the construction of nurses' quarters for staff working at the Hani Community Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) Compound.

The project, funded by the Tain District Assembly through the District Development Fund (DDF), is expected to be completed in four months.

The Krontihene of Hani, Nana Kyere Amaniampong I, commended the DCE for the project, saying the community had been pushing for this for some time now.

He also appealed to the assembly for electricity extension to new sites of the community, upgrade of the CHPS compound to health centre, delivery beds, police post, public toilet and completion of a weighing centre.

Madam Foriwaa Dwommoh said the quarters will have 3-unit bedrooms with toilet facilities in each, common hall and a kitchen.

She added that the project, when completed, will help retain nurses posted to the community, since they will not be facing accommodation challenges.

She explained that the accommodation of health service personnel is as important as the service delivery process, hence the construction of the staff quarters.

She said efforts are being made to fix poor school infrastructure, bad roads, electricity, and the lack of a police post in most of the communities in the district.

Madam Foriwaa Dwommoh assured the chiefs and people in the Tain District of the government's determination to help bring the needed development to the area.
