To ensure a serene learning atmosphere for children in the Attakrom community, 8 Unit classroom block, with office, store room and water closet toilet facility has been commissioned for Attakrom DA KG and Primary school in the Tain District.

The project was sponsored by Mr. Evans and Friends led by Madamfo Ghana Foundation a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) from Germany.

The Chief of Attakrom, Nana Agyei Asamoah thanked the community for their support and commitment towards the completion of the building through communal labour. He was also grateful to Madamfo Ghana Foundation for providing a better classroom block to replace the old one which was on the verge of collapsing. The school children had to walk long distances to attend classes and we felt it was bad and needed to do something to address the problem so the community provided the temporary structure which the children were using, he said.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mrs. Bettina Landgrafe commended the sponsors of the project for donating the amount of money to help improve the level of education in the community.

She was grateful to the chief, elders and the entire community for assisting for the project. Mrs. Bettina Landgrafe, however, used the occasion to advise parents to take their children’s education seriously, because that was the only way to ensure their future successfully.

Mr. Victor Kwaku Manu, Country Director for Madamfo Ghana said the involvement of the community signifies the building for them. He urged the community take proper care of the building and do the necessary maintenance when the need arises to keep the building strong forever. He also pledge borehole for the school.

The District Chief Executive, Madam Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh, commended Madamfo Ghana Foundation for the numerous projects they had and continuing providing for the district.

She appealed to the people of Attakrom to make good use of the building by sending their children to school. She also promised extending electricity to the school and also making sure the school benefit from the school feeding programme. We will also doing landscaping to beautify the compound, she added.

Mr. Godfred Mark Domah, Director of Education for the Tain District, praised Madamfo Ghana Foundation for providing the community a befitting classroom block. He therefore advised parents to invest in their children education and make good use of the building since the Foundation sacrificed their resources to put up the block for them.
