We Are Not Waging War According To The Flesh

We Are Not Waging War According To The Flesh

Can you consider two matured CHRISTIAN leaders fighting over the use of the national sports stadium for as if each others activities or services,BELONGS TO THEM. Sadly from the look of things such is their poor and SELFISH UNDERSTANDING. How will you expect the relationship between their followers to be?

How could husband and wife battles it out regularly as if God has not brought them together as samples of how HUMANITY should get along? This ALSO demonstrate how He God wants to have a relationship with us.

How could RACIAL and nationalism prevail when it's supposed to be LOVE in the CHURCH there's no Gentile or Jew, male OR female, black or white, liberal or conservative Christian, poor or RICH? And many more if the CHURCH LIVES this way how could we express God to win SOULS as we are COMMANDED?

2 Corinthians 10:3‭-‬5 ESV
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

~~Elsewhere Scripture says "For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens." Ephesians 6:12, Sometimes we overreact and try to take matters into our own hands physically, rather than praying and waiting for God's will. We personalise matters because we see ourselves rather than God as more important.

Petty physical and unnecessary human squabbles ruins our DAILY SALVATION. It separate us from the very GOD whom we need Him to transform and sanctify US. Becoming SELFLESS and dependant on God is missed. By so doing the HOLY SPIRIT hardly reveals anything to us, also we lack insights into HIS WORD.

Consider the life of Isaac in the book of Genesis chapter 26, he went to live in the city of the Philistines, because there was a famine in the land, at first they welcomed him, after all, he was only a "homeless wanderer" but Isaac wasn't just any asylum seekers. He was a servant of Yahweh, who didn't worship idols nor follow the sinful lifestyle of his day. Beloved that's what makes the difference. We are told, that Isaac planted and harvested a hundredfold, and because of that the people became enviously jealous of him. From then they seek to destroy him, that's Satan at work.

The King kicked him out of the city, but every where he went God's blessings followed, so the Philistines continued to quarry with him, he has no peace. Yet, Isaac was remarkably humble and patient towards their aggressive behaviour, there's no doubt he was troubled and frustrated but, I believe instead of confronting them physically he chose to do it on his knees and waited for God's redemption, and God delivered him.

"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds." A Christian should never be involved in a physical fight, let's pray for self-control so we can avoid disputes, because it is Satan's ploy to take away our peace and to destroy us, Jn 10:10.

Jesus said, blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. He went on to say, blessed are peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God. Matt 5:5,9. You see, Meek is not weak, it's only a choice of action that DEVOTED Christians or self-controlled people choose. Do not behave like those who know not Christ, try to make a difference and bring glory to God's name. Because the HOLY SPIRIT is there to confort and help us to succeed.

You may ask, how do they do that? Well, look at the last sentence of our passage for today, "take every thought captive to obey Christ," be slow to anger but quick to forgive. Think before you act or even talk. You don't really have to answer everyone who provokes you. Try to speak less but pray more.

Lastly, Be anxious for nothing, but in all things, wait for God to redeem you through His son Jesus Christ to whom all power belongs, now and forever more. AMEN.
