Community Centre Project Set To Takeoff In Gomoa Kyiren

Gomoa Kyiren (C/R), Sept. 14, GNA-The old students of Ahantaman Senior High School in the Western Region, has donated 30 bags of cement towards the construction of a community centre for the people of Gomoa Kyiren in the Central Region.

According to a spokesperson for the group, their action was in support of their best friend, Osabarima Bondam-Adu Entsenyi Joshua II, the Chief of Gomoa Kyiren, an old student and a staunch member of the Ahantaman SHS Past Students Association, towards his developmental activities.

He said the donation was to sustain the existing bonds of cordial relationship between the Association and the Chief, who also the Sahene of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Area.

The event formed part of activities to mark this Year`s ''Ahobakese' Afahye Festival of the Chiefs and people of Gomoa Kyiren.

At the same function, Leaders of the Gomoa Kyiren branch of the Church of Pentecost, also pledged Ten (10) bags of cement towards the community centre project.

Responding to the gesture from the contributors, Osabarima Bondam- Adu Entsenyi Joshua expressed his appreciation to the donors, and assured them that the materials would be used purposely for the Centre.

He appealed to Kyiren citizens in the country and abroad as well as well-wishers to emulate the king gestures of the donors. Joshua commended members of the festival planning and implementation committee for their good work and hoped they would maintain the spirit to organise future festivals successfully. GNA
