Unilever supports Osu Children's Home

Accra, Oct 15, GNA- Unilever Ghana Limited on Saturday donated food items worth five million cedis to the Osu Children's Home in Accra. The donation forms part of activities marking the celebration of World Bread Day.

Mrs Vicky Wireko Andoh, Corporate Affairs Manager of Unilever, who presented the items said the day, which was being celebrated for the first time in the country, was to promote the consumption of bread as well as to promote the bakery industry. She mentioned other activities such as competitions for the Flour User's Association, Vocational Institutions and other educative programmes.

Madam Helena Obeng Asamoah, Managress of the Orphanage, expressed gratitude to Unilever for the gesture, and was hopeful that the orphanage would join the celebration next year to make life more meaningful for the children. The items were bread, Blue Band margarine, biscuits and Lipton Tea bags. 15 Oct. 05.
