Twifo Praso (C/R), Oct. 15, GNA - The District Magistrate's court at Twifo Praso, on Thursday banned Kweku Ntifah, a 31-year-old driver from Cape Coast from driving, pending the renewal of his driving license, which expired in July last year.

Mr Joseph Blay, the presiding magistrate, imposed the ban, after he had sentenced Ntifah to 800,000 cedis fine, for driving without a valid license, picking passengers at an unauthorized place, neglecting a traffic sign post, resisting arrest and failing to give his name to the police upon request.

Ntifah, who pleaded guilty to all the charges, will go to prison for eight months, if he failed to pay the fine. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector William K. Yeboah told the court that on October 5 this year, police on patrol duties arrested Ntifah for picking passengers at a 'no parking' area at Twifo-Praso. He said Ntifah resisted arrest and refused to mention his name to the police and that, when he was arrested, it was detected that his driving license had expired, since July last year.
