Ashanti Gold Is Currently The Biggest Club In Ghana – Kwaku Frimpong

The Majority shareholder for Obuasi Ashanti Gold has described the Club as the best club in the country at the moment.

According to him, the miners are ranked ahead of all clubs in the country including the two most glamorous clubs Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak.

“Ashanti Gold is the best club in Ghana right now. All others are behind us. In terms of player quality and everything we are ahead.” Chairman Kwaku Frimpong said in an interview on Metro FM in Kumasi.

He was speaking ahead of the Kumasi derby between his club, the Miners and the Porcupine Warriors. Kotoko after beating Hearts home and away the Baba Yara Stadium is set for another doubleheader with the Ashanti Gold.

The majority shareholder also believes his club compared to Kotoko has the best players. He is optimistic of a convincing victory on Sunday when the two clubs go toe to toe.

“No Kotoko player is better than my players. We’re beating them this Sunday”, he emphasized.

The Ghanaian business mogul is also betting his Lamborghini on the game as he is prepared to let go the expensive car should Kotoko win the game.

The match between the two teams is likely to be played in Obuasi and another venue with the National Sports Authority reported not willing to sanction any match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after the incident last week that led to the damaging of 275 seats.
