Reports Say Only 30 Of 108km Of Ada West Roads Are Motorable
04.09.2018 LISTEN

A maximum of 30 kilometres of a total of 108 of roads in the entire Ada West District are tarred, and this, Adzoteye Lawer Akrofi, District Chief Executive (DCE), has observed, is despicable for a fast-growing district in the Greater Accra Region.

The district has chalked a couple of infrastructural successes, and with a few on-going, the huge deficit in road infrastructure could slow down the pace at which the area wants to grow its economy.

To reduce the road deficit, therefore, Joseph Miezah, Greater Accra Regional Director of Feeder Roads, together with the Ada West DCE, has inspected some of the bad roads for urgent attention.

Upon observing the horrible state of the roads he traversed on, Mr Miezah associated himself with the complaints of both the DCE and some of the residents, including farmers, who he interacted with on the tour.

The people of Ada West are predominantly crop farmers, and as a result of the immotorable roads to and from their farms, a lot of farm produce go rotten, leaving the farmers with little gain.

Joseph Miezah, after the tour, promised to report back to the Greater Accra Regional Minister, who would instruct how soon the Ada West roads should be fixed to facilitate the movement of goods and passengers and open up the district for vibrant businesses.

Adzoteye Lawer Akrofi, the DCE, was glad to host his guest, who witnessed the state of the roads in the area.
