Kotoko Inflict Unthinkable Pain On Hearts Of Oak

League Report Kotoko Inflict Unthinkable Pain On Hearts Of Oak
SEP 2, 2018 LISTEN

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has inflicted further pain on Accra Hearts of Oak today by beating the Accra based club for the second time running in the space of one week.

The Porcupine Warriors handed the Phobians a two zero defeat in the second leg of the Super 2 friendly clash.

Hearts of Oak were hoping to revenge the first leg they suffered at the Baba Yara Sports stadium last week but were halted as they could not find a way past a determined Paa Kwasi Fabian team who were not going to be beaten today by any means.

Last week, Sogne Yacouba netted twice to give the Kumasi based club a first leg win.

At the same venue today, Kotoko continued their dominance on their sworn enemies by beating them by the same scoreline, two nil. Obed Owusu found the back of the net on the 69th minute before Emmanuel Gyamfi scored on the 83rd minute to kill the game for Kotoko.

Kotoko has now won the 'Super 2 Clash' friendly by 4:0 on aggregates.

Hearts supporters could not take the pain today as they watched Kotoko tear their team apart. Some fans nearing the end of the match started throwing the stadium seats around.

A gesture aimed at showing their displeasure to the referee for not giving them a penalty when one of their forwards was fouled.

The two most glamorous clubs in the country will come up against each other in the John Agyekum Kufuor (JAG) Cup later this year. It will be an opportunity for the Phobians to get a revenge over their sworn enemies.

The win today is a sweet gift from Kotoko to their fans as they celebrate their 83rd birthday.

There is no doubt the street of Kumasi will be buzzing this evening with fans expected to roam the streets with joy.
