Former Central Regional Minister, Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, has failed to win the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) Regional executives' elections held on Saturday.

He was only able to get 157 votes placing third to Ebenezer Kwodwo Teye Addo who emerged as the chairman-elect for the NDC in the Central Region with 256 votes.

S.L. Kakra Yalley who was also contested in the race placed second with 256 votes.

The NDC went to the polls on Saturday to elect regional executives to stir the affairs of the party for the next four years.

Interestingly, there was a tie in the Central Regional Secretary position as two of the contenders had the same number of votes.

Gabriel Nii Kommey Adams and Kojo Quansah both had 238 each.

The winner will, however, be determined by the leadership of the party.

In the Volta Region, former Transport Minister and aspiring Chairman of the National Democratic Congress in the Volta Region, Dzifa Attivor , also failed to get the maximum number of votes from the party's “world bank” to defeat incumbent Chairman in the region, Gyapong Kudjo.

She was able to garner 371 votes while Gyapong Kudjo won with 491 votes at the NDC's just ended Regional elections held nationwide on Saturday, September 1, 2018.

In the Ashanti Region, former Ashanti Regional Minister Joseph Yamin, who also attempted the chairmanship for the party in the region lost by 88 votes to his closest contender Augustus Andrew Nana Kwasi.

In the Greater Accra Region, however, Ade Coker was given the red light by the delegates to continue his chairmanship of the NDC in the region.

He won with 319 votes while his closest contenders Daniel Amartey Mensah, former MCE for LEKMA and Emmanuel Ashie Moore, former Adentan MP, had 293 and 283 votes respectively.

Yahya Kundow, who was also in the race polled 107 votes.
