Embattled Rector of the Wa Polytechnic was prevented from entering his office, Thursday, despite a court ruling directing him to resume official duties.

A high court in Wa, the Upper West Region capital, on Tuesday, quashed a decision by the governing council of the institution to suspend Prof Marfo as the Rector.

Dressed in a colourful Kente cloth, Prof Marfo got out the controversial luxurious Mercedes Benz and headed for the administration block where his office is located.

This will be the first time he is stepping on the forecourt of the block after his suspension.

He sauntered on majestically without greeting the few administrative staff and lecturers around.

He managed a subdued smile and headed to the entrance of the block.

He reached for the doorknob and pushed to open, but it was locked.

Meanwhile, the governing council of the polytechnic has invited Prof Marfo to a scheduled an emergency meeting on Friday, but the embattled Rector has said he will decline the invitation.

He alluded to a strained relationship with some members f the governing council.

On claims that he breached procurement procedures to buy luxurious saloon car worth half a million Ghana cedis, he said he did no wrong.

Interestingly, immediately Prof Marfo sped off in his Mercedes Benz, the gates of the administration were opened.

The administrative staff and the lecturers who were present refused to speak to Joy News.
