Three Sub Metro District Councils under Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) on Wednesday August 29, 2018, sworn in 55 council members to join thirty-three (33) other Councilors from Manhyia North and South Sub Metro Districts.

The three Sub Metros, Bantama, Subin and Nhyiaeso also confirmed three elected assembly members, Mr. Frank Boateng, Mr. Stephen Ofori and Mr. James Nana Prempeh as chairpersons for the three Sub Metros.

In Bantama, the swearing in of 18 council members took place at Presbyterian Church conference hall. The members were made up of eight (8) elected members, five (5) government appointees and Five (5) unit committee members.

Subin Sub-Metro District event took place at the premises of the KMA common room. Nineteen (19) Council Members consist of 9 elected members, 6 government appointees and and 5 unit committee members.

Addressing the council members, the Member of Parliament for Bantama, Mr. Daniel Okyem Aboagye, called on council members to exhibit high sense of selfless services as well as ideas towards the development of Bantama.

According to him, Bantama has been one of the pace setters when it comes to development and other elections related issues.

"Therefore I am appealing to you to support President Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo in development related projects and programs. It is your turn now, let your good services speak for you when you are no more in office" Mr. Okyem Aboagye urged.

The Deputy Metro Coordinating Director for KMA, Yvonne Naboo, called on the various Sub Metro District council members to recognize the structures of the district assemblies and work to ensure good governance as well as development.

In all, twenty-six (26) elected members, fifteen (15) Unit committee members and fifteen (15) Government appointees were sworn into office as councillors in the three Sub Metros by His Worship Peter Oppong Boahen, of Asokwa District Court two in Kumasi.
