Disclaimer On Nandom Clashes

Press Release Disclaimer On Nandom Clashes
AUG 25, 2018 LISTEN

It has come to my attention that one Mohammed who claimed to be a reporter for Radio Freed had a hand in the reportage on the recent clashes between two groups in Nandom. This is to inform all concerned that Radio Freed currently has no staff or reporter by name Mohammed.

One Mohammed Abdulai Kotani, a staff of GES who used to host educational programs at Radio Freed during his free times, left for further studies more than three years ago and has not worked with Radio Freed in any capacity since then. I have spoken to Mohammed and he confirms that one Nettey from Joy FM called him to confirm the stories in Nandom and that he Mohammed at no point presented himself as a staff or reporter of Radio Freed.

He is instructed to take appropriate action to dissociate Radio Freed from the said news article.

For the avoidance of doubt, let it be known to all, therefore, that Radio never assigned, authorized, acquiesced in, or otherwise cause the said news item to be published.

Despite all its challenges, Radio Freed will continue to work for the education, empowerment, development, and peace of the people it serves. It will not participate in any misinformation that creates disorder and disharmony. We ask all and sundry to support us in this mission.

Thank you
