Sefwi Akontombra District Assembly calls for the immediate arrest and investigating of former DCEs

The Akontombra District Assembly in the Western region of Ghana has called for the instantaneous arrest and exploration of former DCEs Peter Nkuah and Pious Nkuah respectively.

This was made known by Mr. Harry Addo, the party secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Akontombra constituency.

Mr. Harry briefing the media at a press conference dubbed “YEEWUO PRESS CONFERENCE” said, the 2016 Auditor General’s report naked the diverting of 881million old cedis (88,165.00 new cedis) from the Stool Land Revenue’s account to the compartments of the following people;

Hon Peter Nkuah – Former District Chief Executive (DCE 2009-2016)

Mr. Patrick Aparik – Former District Coordinating Director (DCD)

Mr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah – Former District Finance Officer (DFO)

They sidetracked the said money from the Legal Stool Lands accounts to illegitimate account with account number 5571820000635771 at the Upper Amenfi Rural Bank in Akontombra contrary to Part 1 Section six (6) of the Financial Administration Act, 2003.Hence the need for the immediate arrest of Hon Peter Nkuah and his coconspirators.

According to Mr. Harry, Hon Pious Nkuah who took over from Hon Peter Nkuah in the Last seven (7) months of 2016 during his administration bloated contracts and hoarded 10billion old Ghana cedis debt out of the 11billion old cedis inherited by the New Patriotic Party in his Seven month in office through disputable contracts.

During Hon Pious Nkuah’s seven months tenure of office, He awarded 7 contracts, 5 being District Assembly Common fund projects and 2 DDF projects.

His predecessor Hon Peter Nkuah awarded a 3 unit class room block at the cost of 1.5 billion old cedis in 2015 at Bronikrom whilst in less than a year after his removal from office as DCE, Hon Pious Nkuah awarded the same 3 unit class room block at Sefwi Ackaakrom to his Uncle at the cost of 1.9 billion old cedis which is questionable.

Also same 3 unit class room block which was priced 1.5billion old cedis at Chorichori under Hon Peter Nkuah’s administration was quoted at 1.9billion old cedis under Hon Pious Nkuah.

Hon Pious Nkuah and the then Coordinating director out of conflict of interest awarded Oppongkrom and Manukrom Chip compound project to themselves at the sum of 590million old cedis without executing their job.

The Akontombra district assembly was privileged to receive 7.7billion old cedis as their share of the DDF in the last quarter of 2016 under the leadership of Hon Pious Nkuah which 4billion old cedis was used for projects without accounting for the remaining amount.

He therefore called upon the Special Persecutor and the appropriate quarters to invite him as soon as possible for interrogating.
