The Family of Maxwell Addo, A 70 year old man who was kidnapped from his village at Nyerede , a village near Agave Nya in the New Juabeng Municipality in Koforidua in the Eastern region is appealing to the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the Inspector General of Police, Dr David Asante Apeatu to help trace his whereabouts.

According to a relative, Kobo Koranteng, Maxwell Addo, popularly known as Wofa Kofi Minta got missing from his village at Nyerede on the 7th of August 2017. When the family could not locate him on that day a report was made at the Okorase Police station at Okorase near Koforidua and a team of Police investigators were dispatched to his House to search for him. When the officers got to the scene , they realized that the door to his room had been locked and not touched. Aside that he had his farm attire, inputs and shoes placed in front of his door but he could not be found. From there the family contacted the management of Bright FM to make an announcement which was done severally but he has still not been found. It’s been two weeks now and nothing has been heard from him. Mr Addo is a well-known farmer in the village with about five children and a number of goats and sheep.

Neighbors suspect that he had been kidnapped by a relative called Francis Ofori, aka “ABROR” who he is said to be having some legal tussle with over a piece of family land . According to neighbors, Francis Ofori had on several occasions threatened to deal with Maxwell Addo over a piece of land in the village Sources claim that when Maxwell Addo stopped Francis Ofori from selling that piece of land in the village there were some confrontations and the case ended up at a circuit court in Koforidua where its being held until he got missing. However the police has not yet picked up the suspect. The family fears that if the suspect is not picked on time to help in investigations there could be a problem. The family is therefore appealing to the government and the security services for help to trace the whereabout of Wofa Minta.
