Lets Not Fight The Presidents Vision, Pui Naaba Tells State Institutions
20.08.2018 LISTEN

Following the numerous calls by some concerned Ghanaians on what they think is an attack on private sector businesses in the country, another industrious Ghanaian has advised State Institutions to be careful not to fight HE Nana Addo’s vision of making the private sector the engine of growth.

Pui Naaba of the Moshie community in Ashanti region, Muftawu Issaka Kotoko, advised the institution especially the financial sector as a matter of priority not to downplay the effort of the President, Nana Akuffo Addo in making the private sector the leader of Ghana's economic emancipation.

He said ‘everyone has seen the efforts of our president in growing our economy through the private sector and everywhere he goes he shows his willingness to cooperate with them’.

So it is unfortunate, he noted, for the financial sector, especially the Bank of Ghana to be fighting some of these same institutions which are helping our president achieve his vision for the country.

In Traditional terms, the Pui Naaba is the Protocol Officer for the Moshie Community and hence have some level authority and reverence among the Moshie people.

Muftaw Issaka Kotoko who is also a real estate developer and businessman pointed that the approach of the Bank of Ghana in the Menzgold issue needs more to be desired, calling for cool heads to prevail.

He believes that Parliament must come out with refined legislation governing private initiatives in the country, just so the current storms in the financial sector of the country does not scare potential investors.

“We can all see the ever-increasing confidence which the public appears to be reposing in MenzGold hence her products must be protected, while the innovative business model engineered by her is aided to grow and blossom, to help Mother Ghana”. He asserted.

He, therefore, noted that the introduction of a legal framework for private initiatives will help to encourage innovations by private individual outfits.

Pui Naaba was of the view that the recent saga between the BOG and Menzgold could have been avoided if there were clear guidelines governing the activities of such private operatives.

While preparing for the Eid Adha which is the feast of Sacrifice by Muslims, Pui Naaba prayed for a better relationship between Government agencies and the Private sector, and also wished the Moslem community especially the Moshie community a happy Eid.
