NPP Where Is Addai Nimo? Group Demands Answers
AUG 17, 2018 LISTEN

A Coalition of Youth Groups in the Ashanti region known as United Chairmen for Ashanti Progress, has called on the President H.E. Nana Addo to appoint Mr. Francis Addai Nimo in order for him to play a ministerial role in the ruling NPP government.

The group said among the many hard workers during the 2016 General elections and other elections held in the country, Mr. Addai Nimo is one of the most easily accessible leaders of the party.

Addressing journalists at their meeting in Kumasi, Public Relations Officer of the group Daniel Opoku Boakye noted that 'it is surprising that up till now we have not heard Hon Addai Nimo's name in our president's list of ministers'.

After sacrificing their lives for the party in the last general elections he noted, most appointees of the NPP government have suddenly become inaccessible and the many jobs promised party grassroots members cannot be found.

Daniel Opoku Boakye said 'we cannot lobby to be made ministers, deputies, DCEs or CEOs, but the least those appointed can do is to heed our calls and help us as and when the need arises', however lamenting that the appointees are nowhere to be seen.

Putting up a case for Hon Addai Nimo, who was at one time the Member of Parliament for Asante Mampong and also a flag bearer candidate of the party, the youth noted that he has done so much for the party and the grassroots and therefore need to be rewarded with an appointment.

"We can't fathom why such a humble man with vast working experience in Civil Engineering and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration should be ignored now that we are in power". He stressed.

He, on behalf of the group however applauded the President for fulfilling most promises the party made to the Ghanaian electorate in the run up to the 2016 elections.

The Coalition made up of about five different known NPP groups in the Ashanti region, also pleaded with the president to call the Chief Executive Officers of MASLOK and NEIP to order as, upon several attempts members of their groups have been ignored while these offices are giving help to several other people.
