The Ghanaian Songstress Mzbel must be Out of her Mind

Feature Article The Ghanaian Songstress Mzbel must be Out of her Mind
AUG 16, 2018 LISTEN

Reading a publication on the expressed views by Ms Belinda Nana Akua Amoah, known in the music industry as Mzbel, I could not help laughing my head off as long as her childishness and myopia go. In the said publication, she is making a mockery of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. For the fact that the President being truthful and a man of integrity, or a gentleman so to speak, to have come out boldly to accept that he had been misled and subsequently sacked the Minister for Energy, Mr Boakye Agyarko, over the AMERI renegotiation deal, she is demanding the resignation of the president.

She says the president has achieved nothing since he assumed the reins of government on 7 January 2017. She goes on to say the president has not been able to fulfill any of his numerous promises so he is incompetent hence must go and pave the way for the comeback of former president John Dramani Mahama, who she finds to be more competent than Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

For the attention of this lady who behaves irresponsibly and reasons far worse than her sixteen years old teenage era, she had better visit the hospital for the cataracts in her eyes and the wax in her ears to be removed in order to see and hear better.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo upon any of his shortcomings has been able to wage a near-successful war on the illegal surface mining (galamsey) that is devastating the nation’s ecosystem. He has been able to implement his free Senior High School education policy despite the unfolding challenges and the fact that he came to find every pesewa embezzled from the State’s coffers by she, Mzbel’s idol former president John Dramani Mahama.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been able to pay the nurses and teachers’ allowances abrogated by former president Mahama. Some public workers had not been paid for years during the Mahama NDC-led government. All such arrears have been paid by the NPP-led government headed by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

He is a gentlemen he who accepts his mistakes, puts up his hands and says sorry. This is exactly what the president has done. He does not reward evil by moving government appointees caught to have committed crimes from one ministry to the other as it was the style of governance by former president John Dramani Mahama. That alone is a great achievement and a credit to him.

He is not allowing his Ministers or appointees to steal government funds with impunity as it used to be prevalent under the watch of former president Mahama.

Let Mzbel who is likely to be older than her brain that Nana Akufo-Addo cannot achieve all his promises to the nation in under two years or during his four-year term in office. His promises must be seen as a long-term project based on a long-term development plan.

Yes, she can like and idolise former president Mahama but to claim he is more competent than Nana Addo in terms of governance is a punch below the belt. Has president Mahama by his position not allegedly facilitated his younger sibling Ibrahim Mahama duping Ghana banks and the Ghana custom services out of millions of Ghana Cedis?

Why do I spend my precious time fruitless on a musician who is politically illiterate, selfish, greedy, less intelligent and as corrupt as the president she idolises and sees as a role model?

To conclude, does Mzbel know the importance of water, clean air, fertile arable lands and forests to the sustenance of human lives on this planetary earth? Does she also know the adverse effects of uncontrolled galamsey as were being encouraged by John Mahama on the nation’s water bodies, air, farmlands and the forests?

This woman must be ashamed of herself by depicting her shallow-mindedness and her lack of love for Ghana and Ghanaians but her selfish interests and silly infatuation for a corrupt leader.

Her tin god Mahama, by the way, siphoned Ghana’s money out of the country and directly or indirectly encouraged his appointees to embezzle Ghana’s money through “create, loot and share” judgment debt payments, bloated contract costs, irresponsible sole sourcing of contracts etc. I stand to be vindicated when the Special Prosecutor, Mr Martin Amidu, kick starts his operational gear into the fifth or sixth gear in the few weeks or months ahead. It is on the day of the demise of the frog that its true length can be determined.

When Mr Martin Amidu starts work and the noose closes on the necks of Mahama and his appointees, I hope Mzbel will not come back to talk gibberish that it is political witch-hunt. It is only in Ghana that little-minds like Mzbel is given the platform to express her stupid antics.
