Apam (C/R), Oct. 7, GNA - Gyatekuma Servant-Leader Project, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) base in New York with a branch at Winneba has donated books worth about 1,000 dollars to the Apam Secondary School.

The books on Mathematics, Science, Health and Encyclopaedia for reference were donations from the Westchester United Methodist Church in the USA.

Reverend Dr Samuel Q.E. Ghartey, President of the organisation said the Apam Secondary School was noted as science oriented hence the donation to boost teaching and learning of the subject. Rev. Ghartey said the donation, which formed part of activities marking the annual Akwanbo festival of the people of Apam signified the beginning of a close relationship between his organisation and the school.

Nana Essel Botwe the third, Queenmother of Apam and Mr Archibald Kobina Fuah, Headmaster, jointly received the items on behalf of the school.

Mr Fuah thanked the organisation for the gesture and appealed to Apam citizens, especially those residing abroad to help the administration to restore the school's past glory. He said the books were God-sent since the school's library had been depleted.
