NGO, Engage Now Africa (ENA), has passed out 100 adult learners that completed a literacy programme in the Central Region town of Kisi.

The graduation ceremony, which was held two weeks ago, came off at the premises of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Chairman for the graduation event, Kojo Amankwah, thanked ENA for introducing the programme to the community.

Mr Amankwah is confident the programme will improve the lives of the graduates.

He noted that people in deprived communities like Kisi are usually sidelined in developments, but the literacy programme will enable them to stay up to date with technological and economic trends.

He urged the adult literacy graduates to put the business skills – budgeting, bookkeeping, stock-taking, savings and investment among others – which they received from the training to good use.

Mr Amankwah also urged the graduates to apply their skills to improve their lives and that of their families.

He further tasked them to continue polishing their reading and writing skills.

He also urged ENA to keep up the good work and train as many adults that are willing to be trained.

ENA for many years has been a champion in efforts to strengthen individuals, families, and communities to end poverty.

ENA does this through adult education, provision of microloans, self-support assistance, provision of clean water and sanitation, medical services, orphan support, and eradication of modern forms of slavery.
