Nana Addo Is Not Learning – Abraham Amaliba

Member of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) legal team, Mr. Abraham Amaliba, has discounted President Akufo-Addo’s assertions that he is delivering on the promises he made to Ghanaians.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo is taking Ghanaians for a ride, adding that “the President never learns ” as he keeps on making new promises.

Speaking on Citi TV's breakfast show, Mr. Abraham Amaliba accused the NPP government of failing to fulfill the promises they made to Ghanaians ahead of the 2016 elections.

“Where is the one village one dam; where are the factories? This President will never learn,” the lawyer said.

When a co-panelist on the show and a member of the NPP legal team, Mr. Gary Nimako responded by saying that his comments about the President were inappropriate, Mr. Amaliba justified his choice of words and retorted by saying the NPP said worse things to President Mahama.

“At a point, they changed then President Mahama's surname to incompetent,” he argued.

Mr. Amaliba also accused the NPP Government of tagging already existing companies as newly built factories as part of the one district one, one factory policy.

“You went to one part in the central region and cut a sod for a factory. As we speak today it is overgrown with weeds. He made a promise that by the end of 2016 a lot of factories would have mushroomed, but that is not the case. What they are doing is begging people who already have existing factories to hook on and then they cut sod.”

“It is difficult when you hear the President speak about new things coming; you begin to think that this is not a President you can trust. Ghanaians must be critically minded and assess whatever the President says.”

He further called on Ghanaians to critically assess the government and decide for themselves if the President is achieving the promises he made to Ghanaians.

Delivered promises
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as part of his Ashanti Regional tour over the weekend said that he is fulfilling the promises he and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) made to Ghanaians in the run-up to the December 2016 elections.

“The work that we promised to do, the promises I made during the campaign period, I believe that all Ghanaians can attest to the fact that they were not idle promises, but rather promises that I honestly believed that I could fulfill, once I won power,” the President said.
