To this end a new agreement on the German-Ghana coopereation which was signed in May 2005 will continue to make Ghana a priority partner for German development cooperation Worldwide.

The German Anbassador to Ghana H.E Peter Linder made these remarks on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the German Reunification celebrated in Accrea yesterday. He said a new two-year bilateral agreement on the Ghana-German Development was also signed in Bonn in May this year to define the sectors of cooperation and the projects to be carried on.

The German Ambassador said conditions for Ghanaian-German econonic cooperation have improved with the completion of the one stop shop agency as part of the Ghana Investment promotion centre and will improve further with the coming into power of the Ghanaian-German Agreement on the Avoidance of Docble Taxation next year thereby enhancing bilateral trade and German investments in Ghana in the near future.

He hoped Ghana's new trade policy as well as her five-years strategic implimentation plan could support more businesses between the two countries to serve as easier procedures and more security for investors in Ghana to spark off more investments.

H.E Linder observed that besides governmental cooperations it is important for NGOs and individual persons to engage in development cooperations to help fight poverty,to support healthcare, save cultural heritage and educat echildren
