Afari (Ash), Oct.4, GNA - The residents of Afari in the Atwima Nwabiagya district are putting up a two classroom block estimated at over 60 million cedis for the local kindergarten school. Nana Albert Tieku, the local Parent Teacher Association (PTA) chairman, who led newsmen to inspect the project on Monday said, the Atwima Nwabiagya district assembly donated four roofing sheets and 20 bags of cement.

Agricare, a livestock feed manufacturing company at Tanoso in Kumasi, he said also donated 15 million cedis. Nana Tieku said, the project was being financed from the resources of the Afari stool land while the residents offer labour. He appealed to the citizens to contribute meaningfully towards the provision of social amenities in the community and desist from their apathetic posture and attitude.

Nana Tieku announced that the next priority project was the renovation of the primary school block and urged the residents to continue to offer labour.

Mr Samuel Kwabena Boateng, headteacher of the local Presbyterian basic school said, the major problem affecting the school was lack of place of convenience and appealed to the community to assist the school to improve it's sanitation.
