The Ghana Mini Golf Federation has provided the people of Ofankor, in the Ga North Municipality, with a borehole to alleviate the perennial water problem in the area.
Mr Taalal Fattal, the President of the Federation, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the inauguration of the borehole at the weekend, said it has been the organisation's aim to assist communities with social amenities to alleviate their plights.
He said they were touched, when the chief of Ofankor, Nii Kortey Boi appealed to them for support in the provision of potable drinking water as the people travelled long distances in search of water for their household tasks.
Nii Kortey Boi, who is also the Presiding Member of the Ga North Municipal Assembly said the water situation has been a concern to him and the elders of the town, and that, the provision of the boreholes was a great relief.
He expressed gratitude to the Ghana Mini Golf Federation for the assistance and assured of the proper handling of the facility and appealed to other non-governmental organisations and philanthropists to support the community.
