Northern Queenmothers Partner NGOs

Some Queen Mothers from the three regions of north have partnered with Non-Governmental Organizations SOSJOBS4WOMEN Ghana and Nekotech Ghana, to boost investment as well as create jobs for women in the area.

The group, dubbed Royal Queen Mothers for Peace and Development, opines that the best way to tackle unemployment among within their jurisdiction is to partner with credible organizations such as SOSJOBS4WOMEN Ghana and Nekotech Ghana to showcase their natural endowment for prospective investors.

Speaking at a consultative meeting with the NGOs, representatives of the Queen Mothers for Peace and Development said “our area is blessed with a lot of natural resources such as gold, shea butter, groundnut, maize, fugu (smock), moringa, nim tree oil, honey, limestone among others.

“We are calling on all investors both local and abroad to invest in our area and explore more to create jobs for our people, especially women.”

Some of the queen mothers who graced the occasion include the queen mothers of Bunprugu Traditional Area Azuri Imoru, Jaga Traditional Area -Kubra Abdul Kadr, Wungu Traditional Area -Mariama, Bole Traditional Area-Hajia Ajara Bukari, Gwollu Traditional Area among a host of others.

In her address to the Queen Mothers, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SOSJOBS4WOMEN Ghana and Nekotech Ghana, Rev. Dr. Ocansey, pledged her organization's unshaken support for the initiative.

She said the move is in tandem with their core mandate of ensuring that women have access to decent jobs within Ghana and abroad.

She added that series of activities have been lined up to make the dream a reality.

“We will have an exhibition on the 30th of August at the Accra International Conference Centre to enable us to create a mini market for local goods. We have a mandate to use our products especially our fashion as a tool for development” she said

Dr. Ocansey further called on government and the private sector to rally behind the project to help create more jobs.
