Joetex Frimpong scores 6 goals in 11 days

Ghanaian international, Joetex Frimpong, confirmed his readiness to do business for Ghana's National team, the Black Stars in their next World Cup Qualifier, slated for October 8 in Cape Verde by scoring six goals in eleven days for his club, Enyimba, in two domestic championships, in Nigeria.

Frimpong, who set a CAF Champions League scoring record of 14 goals in two editions (2003 and 2005), scored three goals each in the Nigerian Premier League, sponsored by telecommunications outfit, Globacom and the Coca-Cola FA Cup, sponsored by Coca-Cola.

He started with a Coca-Cola FA Cup goal on Thursday, September 15, in the Quarter-final first leg match against Gombe United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna and scored his second goal on Sunday, September 18 in a Premier League match against Gateway FC in Katsina.

The Ghanaian hit-man went goal-crazy last Wednesday, September 21, with two goals in the Coca-Cola FA Cup Quarter-final second leg match against Gombe United and also hit target twice in his team's 3-0 victory over visiting Wikki Tourists in a league match played on Sunday, September 25 at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba.

Speaking with www.ghanaweb.com, he said: “I must confess that these goals have put me in the right mood when the Black Stars resume camping for the match against Cape Verde. Playing for the Black Stars has been interesting and I am ready to join my colleagues. Our mission is to play in the World Cup.”

Frimpong told www.ghanaweb.com that he intends to join the Black Stars camp after helping his club in the Coca-Cola FA Cup semi-finals against Sharks FC of Port-Harcourt, on Sunday October 2, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

With three goals in the Coca-Cola FA Cup, the Ghanaian has joined in the race for the highest goalscorer award, while his tally in the league has increased to six.

The Ghanaian hit-man has three international caps since debuting against Burkina –Faso. He has also played against South Africa and Uganda.
