NPP Polls: Freddie Blay's contributions, loyalty to NPP victory in 2016 better Mpiani - Razak Opoku

The Founder and President of Concerned Voters Movement (CVM) has launched attacks on former Chief of Staff under the Kufuor administration, Mr. Kwadwo Mpiani for questioning the loyalty of Freddie Blay in New Patriotic Party ahead of Saturday's elections in Eastern Region.

Over 6,000 delegates will be voting at the Koforidua Technical University Park on July 7, 2018 for new national executives to lead the party going into the 2020 elections.

Mpiani has mounted strong opposition to Acting New Patriotic Party (NPP) Freddy Blay’s quest to be affirmed during the party’s National Executive elections slated for July 7, 2018 as he questioned the loyalty of the latter.

Mr Blay faces strong challenge from the four-time National Chairman contender Stephen Ayesu Ntim for the National Chairman position in an election which promises to be keenly contested at the party’s National Delegates Congress which comes of in Koforidua.

Mr Mpiani in an interview with Joy News insisted that it was a mistake in the first place to elect Mr Blay as a Vice Chairman of the NPP as he has not roots in the Danquah-Busia tradition.

“The Chairman of your party is the number one person in the party and so you must give the Chairman…you may not have voted for the person, you may not even like him and we’re all in the same party, and if majority say this is what we want to be the Chairman of the party we accept. They should look at the history of the party and choose loyalty to the party.”

The contribution and significance of only Daily Guide to the course of NPP outweighs the contribution and significance of those contesting Freddie Blay.

In a sharp rebuttal, CVM boss, Razak Kojo Opoko described Mr. Mpiani's statement as 'immature politically talk' and asked Mr. Mpiani's contributions to the party in 2016 general elections.

Razak Opoku said Freddie Blay deserves to be voted for as the party's National Chairman for his tremendous support he gave to the party to win the 2016 general elections.

He admitted that though Freddie Blay joined the NPP party later but his contributions and loyalty are undoubtedly. "Freddie Blay is loyal to the the NPP than Kwadwo Mpiani".

"Freddie Blay contributions and loyalty to the victory of NPP is far better and 100% efficient than those questioning and doubting his political credibility", he emphasized.

"Dr. Bawumia recently joined NPP ahead of the 2008 general elections but now I can confidently and boldly state that his unprecedented contributions and loyalty to the growth and victory of NPP overshadows the loyalty and contributions of several founding members of NPP", he revealed.

He opined that when Freddie Blay was acting as the party's National Chairman and working hard for the party to win power in 2016, Mr. Mpiani and some elements in NPP were working behind the scene against Nana Akufo-Addo's victory.

"Freddie Blay acted and won power for the NPP whilst those questioning his loyalty today were seriously working hard behind the scene against the victory of NPP and President Akufo-Addo", he stated.

He added that Freddie Blay is going to win the upcoming Chairmanship race and kill the perception of this person is an alien in a political party.

"Freddie Blay victory shall kill the perception of 'Obadaben' and 'Obayenkye' 'nonsense' in NPP. It will prove a point that the New Delegates of NPP believe and uphold Hardwork and relevance towards the victory and growth of the NPP".

He, however said "Freddie Blay deserves the National Chairmanship Position and he is going to win overwhelmingly. His victory shall attract more floating voters and members of other Political Parties to defect to the NPP".

'Obadaben', 'Obayenkye' & Loyalty 'Nonsense' Should Cease in NPP---CVM

There is no political party in Ghana that can win elections with only its founding members, card bearing members and sympathizers. That is the more reason why Political Parties spend money, time and resources together with various strategies to convince floating voters and members of other Political Parties to join forces with them for political power.

It took great alliances of political parties to win power for NPP in 2000 and NDC also joined forces with opposition parties to kick NPP out of power in 2008. In 2016, endorsements from smaller political parties equally influence the voter psychology of Ghanaians to overwhelmingly vote for NPP and President Akufo-Addo in an unprecedented electoral victory.

The question of Freddie Blay obadaben is a 'foolish' talk politically.

The question of Freddie Blay loyalty is in doubt because obayenkye is a 'stupid' talk politically.

Freddie Blay acted and won power for the NPP whilst those questioning his loyalty today were seriously working hard behind the scene against the victory of NPP and President Akufo-Addo.

Freddie Blay deserves the National Chairmanship Position and he is going to win overwhelmingly. His victory shall attract more floating voters and members of other Political Parties to defect to the NPP.

Freddie Blay victory shall kill the perception of 'Obadaben' and 'Obayenkye' 'nonsense' in NPP. It will prove a point that the New Delegates of NPP believe and uphold Hardwork and relevance towards the victory and growth of the NPP.

Any candidate who campaigns on 'Obadaben' and 'Obayenkye' is immature politically and that candidate does not deserve a leadership position in NPP because NPP shall always need members of other Political Parties to defect to the NPP.
