JUN 26, 2018 LISTEN

Two security men have been killed by some suspected armed robbers at a store located along the Takoradi-Kwesimintsim Road in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis.

The deceased were identified as Umar Jallo, 54, and Sule Seidu, 62.

The armed robbers tied the hands and legs of the deceased who were on duty at night.

The residents believe the armed robbers might have beaten the security personnel to death because of wounds found on their heads and faces.

However, the armed robbers could not break into the store to steal the bags of rice.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that the Kwesimintsim Police Patrol team arrived at the scene around 3:30am to convey the bodies of the victims to a morgue at New Amanful, near Takoradi. No arrests have been made.

Confirming the story to DAILY GUIDE, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, Western Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), indicated that incident occurred on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

She disclosed that the police had information that two private security men on duty at “Be Kind Enterprise” on the Takoradi-Kwesimintsim Road had been killed by unknown persons.

The Police proceeded to the scene at Lagos Town in Takoradi.

At the scene of the crime, the bodies of two male adults were found lying in prone positions behind the 'Be Kind Enterprise' building.

The hands of the two were tied behind them with rope and sponge.

“There was blood in their nostrils. Further inspection revealed a deep cut at the back of the head of Sule Seidu.

“Umar Jallo also sustained cut on the forehead,” she pointed out.

“Blood was found on their attire at the spot.”

“Three cast iron pinch bars were found at the scene, which the police suspect might have been used to commit the crime,” the Police PRO noted.

She revealed that one of the metals was stucked in the main door of the store which prevented the suspects from gaining access to steal the bags of rice.

“The three cast iron pinch bars were conveyed to the station and kept for evidence.”

She added that the police took photographs of the bodies, adding, “The crime scene was cordoned off for further action. The bodies were later removed and deposited at a morgue pending autopsy.”
