Ho, Sept. 17, GNA - A National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth functionary at the weekend urged feuding bigwigs in the party to stop the demoralizing bickering among them or be "swept out of the Party by the youth."

Mr Ludwig Hlodze, Deputy National Youth Organizer was speaking at the Joint Volta Regional Youth and Women Delegates Conference of the Party in Ho.

He said the larger interest of the party was bigger than individual egos of their leaders, noting that the energies of the youth were being strained by the continual intra-party squabbles.

Mr Hlodze said the situation could split the ranks of the youth and thereby render the party incapable of winning the 2008 elections. "You must not support the agenda of any individual member but only that of the party," he advised the youth.

Mr Elvis Ankrah, Deputy Campaign Manager of the NDC Presidential Candidate in the 2004 elections, Professor John Evans Atta Mills said a committee was working to unravel reasons behind the party's defeat in the central region, home region of the party's presidential candidate. Mr Modestus Ahiable, Regional Chairman of the Party said policies of the party must reflect the fact that women and the youth form the bedrock of any political party. He urged members to die a little for the party by regularly paying their dues.

The Conference, which was convened to elect regional officers of the women and youth wings of the party in the region elected Mr Maxwell Owusu-Siaw as Regional Youth Organizer, with Mr Wisdom Dafeamekpor and Mr George Kportorwu as Deputy Youth Organizers. Madam Mercy Kwadah was returned unopposed as the Regional Women's Organiser with Madam Jessie Ekumebu and Madam Grace Gbedege Zakli as deputies.
