The late Dr. Myles Munroe, once said; "The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but the greatest tragedy in life is a life without purpose". My father in the Lord; Sir Launcelot Gyamfi Kyei also said; " When one is ignorant of his purpose; failure, hopelessness and aimlessness are his life mates." I entreat you all to spend time seeking the face of the Lord concerning His purpose for your life.

In this article, I will be dealing with what I've titled "The Called and the Chosen". My desire to document this comes from the very words of Jesus the Christ as recorded in the Holy Bible in Matthew 22:14.

“For the called are many and the chosen are few.”

From this scripture, I was enlightened into seeing three categories of persons who are called. These categories are as a result of how these ones responded to the call. The categories are;

1. The Called who didn't answer.
2. The Called who answered but embarked on their own purposes.

3. The Called who answered and walked according to the purposes of God.

Now, let's look into each one of this groupings.

1. The Called who didn't answer: This category currently has the highest turnout throughout the world. It's imperative to know that the only qualification you need to receive a call from Almighty God - is to be human. It has been the desire of God since the foundations of the earth was laid; to call men unto Himself and send them as an extension of Himself. However, people due to the reasons below and many other ones, have failed to answer the call.

•Disbelief in the existence of a supreme being - God (Atheism).

•Blatant refusal to accept the saving grace of Jesus.

•Postponing the art of accepting Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord till further notice. People under this give flimsy excuses like being too young to accept Jesus. Wanting to enjoy the pleasures of life first before surrendering their lives to Christ, etc.

Under this first category, they have not accepted the grace of God which has appeared unto all men. Hence, according to John 3:16, they will perish in eternal damnation for not believing and receiving Jesus.

2. The Called who answered but embarked on their own purposes: This group of people have taken the step of faith already. They have accepted the Lordship of Christ upon their life. But they failed to adhere and walk according to God's purposes. More like they had their own agendas. They had things in mind they so desire to pursue. Even though, these things are often inconsistent with the perfect will of God. The reasons underlined below and others not contained in this article, causes many to fall under this category;

•Lack of patience: The training process of God can really be time consuming depending on an individual's ability to align to the educational system of the Spirit. Many abandon this course, and start on what they assume to be the Lord's path. Indeed, a path might seem right before a man but there end thereof is calamities and the like. Learn to be patient and wait for the Lord.

•Inadequate and Inefficient Prayer lifestyles: Prayer is the primary communication gadget between Christians and Jehovah. It's in the place of prayer where we position ourselves to download the specific purposes of God for our lives. Now when this gadget is not used well, embarking on a different pursuit is possible.

•Copy and Pasting attitudes: Many young ones have copied the lives of others verbatim and are busy living it out. There is no harm in following men of God and learning from them. But when you build your life around them - leaving no room for the leadings of the HOLY SPIRIT, you are on the highway of missing out on God's exact purpose for your life. Learn from others but don't loose your identity and originality in Christ Jesus.

3. The Called who answered and walked according to the purposes of God: This group of people is where we all should desire to be a part of it. They are the very ones that the Lord Jesus chooses. Not only are there Christians but they walk not according to their self imposed purposes but that of God.

These ones have tarried and still tarry in prayer to hear from the Lord concerning His move in their lives. These ones make a constant practice of studying the Word to know and understand past, current and future plans of Almighty God.

These ones, through the art of prayers and fasting have submitted their flesh to the leadings of the Spirit. These ones seek first that God's kingdom will be established in their lives and territories.

These ones have put aside their desires, wants, plans and the like for the higher purpose of attaining the perfect will of God. These ones are Marys in a Martha world; they constantly draw direction at the feet of Jesus. These ones don't allow the pressures and pleasures of life throw them of balance. Their focus remains fixated on the Lord Jesus at all times. These ones are the called and the chosen for kingdom relevance.

Where do you belong in this category? If you suppose you are in the third category - kudos. Keep fighting the good fight of faith! Keep running the glorious race! But if you belong to the second, please speak to the Lord right now and seek direction and clarity. If you find yourself in the first group, I like to make this appeal unto you. Submit your life into the hands of Jesus Christ right now. Make Him the Lord of your life ASAP.

ALMIGHTY GOD, I AM HERE TODAY. I ACKNOWLEDGE MY NEED FOR YOU. I BELIEVE THAT JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD FOR ME AND I ACCEPT HIS LORDSHIP OVER MY LIFE. TODAY, I ANNOUNCE TO THE WORLD THAT I'M SAVED, I'M BORN OF GOD. THANK YOU FOR ACCEPTING ME AND EMPOWERING ME TO LIVE FOR YOU. IN JESUS' NAME I PRAY. AMEN!
