Entries Open For 2018 Accra International Book Festival

The Accra International Book Festival has started accepting entries to its maiden competition honouring the best of international publications.

The 2018 Accra International Book Festival will consider publishers, independent and self-published works in the categories of;

1. fiction,
2. non-fiction,
3. biography, autobiography,
4. children’s books,
5. cookbooks,
6. compilations/anthologies,
7. young adult,
8. how-to, photography/art,
9. unpublished stories, business,
10. poetry, spiritual/religious,
11. travel among others.

The grand prize for the 2018 Accra International Book Festival is GHS10,000 at the awards ceremony to be held in Accra, Ghana in November 2018.

Submitted works will be judged by a panel of experts who will be considering the various criteria:

(a) General excellence and the author’s passion for telling a good story that can change the world and

(b) The potential of the work to gain a wider audience in the worldwide market

All entry packages MUST include one copy of the book, any relevant marketing material, a filled entry form and a ¢50 entry fee or receipt.

Winners of the Accra International Book Festival will be honoured at a gala ceremony held in Accra, Ghana in November 2018.

Also, the Accra International Book Festival First Book Award will celebrate new writers whose work is invaluable to the literary market.

Every debut novelist in Ghana and elsewhere has the opportunity to be included in the award.
