The Head of Apaa Yogo Family of Agona Nyakrom , Abusuapanyin Kweku Ninson, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) to give him and his family members maximum security and protection due to persistent attacks.

According to the head of Apaa Yogo family the rate at which attacks are being meted to them by unknown persons could result to loss of lives and property if protection was not given.

Abusuapanyin Ninsin made the appeal when he addressed a News Conference at Agona Nyakrom when an unknown persons set his Toyota pick-up ablaze at 0200 hours last Thursday at Nyakrom in the Agona West Municipality of the Central region.

According to him, the unknown persons after burning the car into ashes left a gallon containing petrol and a match in the gutter closed to where the car was packed.

He said the bank cheques and other documents belonging to his Company and his relevant personal documents were also burnt.

The Abusuapanyin Ninson, disclosed that the incident occurred after he and his elders attended Circuit Court at Agona Swedru, on the case of writ of possession filed by him against Nana Ampiah Koko, Yogo family of Agona Nyakrom.

He said already, the Court of Appeal in Cape Coast on 28th October,2015 ruled in favour of Apaa Yogo Family on an appeal against the Judgment of the Circuit Court , Agona Swedru, delivered on 13th July ,2009 in a suit filed by Ampiah Koko family.

He stated that the matter had been reported to the Agona Nyakrom Police and investigations were on-going to unravel the mystery behind the burning of the car.

He also disclosed that the unknown people had sprayed 'deadly chemicals' on acres of his maize farm which had destroyed the entire farm planted one and half months ago.

He said a group of persons also came to his house and attacked and attempted to kidnap him and the matter was reported to the Nyakrom Police but nothing had so far been done.

The Abusuapanyin Ninson alleged that the Nyakrom Police gave assurance that the matter would be investigated to its logical conclusion adding that the numerous attacks on him as Head of Apaa Yogo family was linked to a disputed land between him and other family members and regretted that the entire members of Apaa Yogo family were living in fear.

Madam Efua Baawah, a Member of Apaa Yogo, who also spoke emotionally at the News conference said their sons and daughters had fled from Agona Nyakrom to Accra , Kumasi, Takoradi and other cities for fear of being manhandled by these unknown persons.

She alleged that all matters related to Apaa Yogo family members, especially Abusapanyin Ninson had not been dealt fairly as far as security personnel at Agona Nyakrom were concerned and appealed to IGP and BNI to intervene to avert bloodshed.

Madam Baawah said the members were not safe due to many threats issued to the head of the family and expressed the hope that the National Security Minister, BNI and IGP would intercede to prevent trauma and anxiety they were going through at Agona Nyakrom.
