Corruption, The Dubious Act Of Our Society

Corruption has been one of the all time fought against corollary in our jurisdiction. For some decades now, corruption issue has been discussed by top analysts and in hot lava debates. But almost all measures and approaches have got to no avail, corruption has been the necklace of most of our political leaders, civil servants and public servants. Even the self – acclaimed innocent citizens who almost and all the time chastise the above mentioned personnel are all corrupt in their own unique ways.

Bringing it close to view, some Journalists and other stakeholders have gathered the tools of Faradey to challenge this menace at all cost, but their efforts gets to no avail. The most disheartening thing is that, most of this Journalists who seek to speak against corruption are molested and threatened with swords. It is in this regard, I sincerely plead a space in your unbiased newspaper to air my convictions.

It is really pathetic and heartbroken when people believe that, in China and the Western world: corruption is an abominable act but in our jurisdiction, people embrace and hail this act to the apogee. People rejoice to this corrupt political leaders, worshiping their scandals ridden and corrupt religious leaders like God.

I am affrighted of the direction of our country: a country that breeds corruption and corruptible irregular old illiterates, who seems to have come from the primordial terrestrial world. A continent like Africa which about 85% of its political leaders children live in equivalence of million dollar mansions and study abroad. We cannot even decipher corruption from good deeds now. Because it seems like, it form part of the Blackman’s DNA.

Now , the average persons on the streets exercise no belief in governance. The obvious answer they have for questionnaire is “however it goes, we are all in the country”. All these come as a result of someone’s selfish gains. Even the white coated politicians who on any other day could have been vindicated to be devoid of corruption, have delineate to the society they were wolfs with sheep skin in the video presentation of the ace undercover Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The deep sentiments expressed by Ghanaians after watching the first video looks as if corruption will be a thing of the past immediately after the premier of all the videos. But the question is, to how far will this issue go? Someone can relate that even as it stands now, public officials are still sweeping unshared national cake into black accounts. But I certainly believe in one life principle that ‘you can only rise to fall’, for which our leaders do not think of until they grow to see that they lived an empty life, when they had the opportunity to perform. The younger generation is crying of how they can run this country and its affairs if this dubious act continues to be in section. Unemployment rate continue to shoot, but our leaders do not reckon about this but still sees it exploit enough to steal from public purse. The number of noble Ghanaians who by lack of funds finds it difficult to operate on three times daily meal are left to their faith. I believe undoubtedly that, the corruptible pundits in this country are only grooming the next generation of armed robbers and nothing else.

Nevertheless, if all these are accepted of all human, then, our country will continue to dwindle in poverty if we continue to have institutions with corrupt people like Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi who can be such evil to challenge innocent Ghanaians with 20000 Ghana Cedis just to buy our conscience to believe in his blatant lies, that he was not corrupt.

Owing to this direction, I would like to lay some unconsolidated suggestion to the President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo. I suggest every public official who fall short in the video of the ace undercover Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, must face the necessary sanction and even some years of imprisonment without pardon if the law demand. Since I was brought to earth I have never heard of corrupt public official being imprisoned for their negative acts, but, I solemnly believe that, you are a man of integrity who solely exercise belief in the potential ideas of your citizens.
