The struggle for independence of Africa State to build a union were Africans will share a common identity and end the menace of economic, social and political hardship is a struggle not only for Heads of State but Africans .Africa countries face a lot of problems, with poverty being Africa’s biggest problem .

In this article I will like to throw more light on the Akuffo Addo factor in Promoting Peace in Africa. The Akuffo Addo factor is the God factor to turn Ghana and Africa back to God. Permit me to ask whether God has really found a man called Akuffo-Addo to bring independent economic, social, political change within the Africa continent that will help reduce poverty?Recently, Heads of state had bought into the idea of Transformation and Ghana beyond aid Agenda of the Akufo Addo governments. There had been progress in many Africa countries in political conflict such as the Togo crisis.

Secondly, has the election of H.E Nana Addo Danquah to the presidency bring the rebirth of hope, a hope for change, a hope which affirms the aspiration a the people to turn Ghana and Africa around from its lost course of mismanagement, corruption and poverty, to one of growth, improved development and economic prosperity?

The Togo Crisis
Recently the president H.E Nana Addo met The Togolese Government and the Coalition of 14 Opposition political parties to agree and implement a number of measures aimed at building trust and confidence amongst the political actors in Togo.

This was contained in a communiqué issued on Monday, February 19, at the end of the first dialogue meeting held between the parties. aimed at finding a lasting solution to the political impass in Togo.

As part of measures aimed at “appeasement and confidence building”, President Akufo-Addo, as captured by the communiqué, conveyed a number of decisions taken by his Togolese counterpart, President Faure Gnassingbe, to that end.

This included the signing of a presidential pardon, dated 19th February, 2018, for the release of forty-five out of the ninety-two persons detained in the country’s prisons as a result of their involvement in the demonstrations.

Guinea Bissau Political Crisis
Consensus Prime Minister of Guinea Bissau, Aristide Gomes, appealed to President Akufo Addo, to persuade his colleague Heads of State within the ECOWAS sub-region to assist Guinea Bissau out of its political crisis and also to hold national elections come November. The Guinea Bissau leader made the request Thursday evening, May 31, 2018, when he paid a courtesy call on President Akufo- Addo, at the Jubilee House as part of his West African sub-regional tour to seek help for his country. In his address, Prime Minister Gomes said his country needs a total of nine million Euros (€9m) in order to conduct it’s elections in November this year.

So far, the state has been able to raise two (2) million Euro of the needed amount. He therefore requested of President Akufo Addo to compel ECOWAS to contribute 2.5 million Euro towards the elections. Additionally, the Consensus Prime Minister asked West African leaders to maintain peacekeeping troops currently serving in his country. He observed that their continued presence in Guinea Bissau is critical for the peace of the state.

President Akufo-Addo in his response said he and his colleagues consider Guinea Bissau as a very important state within West Africa and therefore supporting her out of its current political challenges is a very important duty. The President to this end, indicated that he will champion efforts to get all the help Guinea Bissau needs beginning this Saturday when the President of ECOWAS visits him. He also assured that at the next ECOWAS Heads of State meeting and African Union Summit coming off in a few weeks, matters concerning Guinea Bissau will be thoroughly dealt with.r continued presence in Guinea Bissau is critical for the peace of the state.

Peace In Northern Ghana
The president delivering a speech on the theme, 'The Transformation of the North – An Agenda for Change', at the University for Development Studies, on Friday, 25 July, 2008 at the Tamale Campus, as part of his tour of the Northern Region pledged to bring peace to Northern Ghana which has been bedeviled with pockets of chieftaincy conflicts. He hopes to achieve this by the rapid transformation of the region.“The disputes in so many of our communities that sometimes lead to outbreaks in violence, is one of the biggest obstacles to the development of the North,” Nana stated, adding that “The development that I seek will itself contribute to the peace that we need”.

The conflicts in the North have diverted national attention and consumed a lot of resources expended in maintaining law and order.

Nana Akufo-Addo said he believes that the transformation and modernisation of the North is a necessary precondition to the transformation and modernisation of Ghana. He therefore pledged to “build on the work of President Kufuor and others to promote peace especially with current mechanisms such as the Committee of Eminent Chiefs who are doing a yeoman's job in bringing to an end the protracted Dagbon conflict”.
