Kumasi: 'Chop Chop' Hits Tobinco's Agyenkwa FM

There was drama earlier this week in Kumasi at the premises of Agyenkwa FM, a radio station belonging to Pharmaceutical giants Tobinco when the Electricity Company of Ghana's regional branch in Kumasi disconnected power supply.

The ECG claims there is an accrued debt of over GHC7,000 waiting to be cleared hence the rigid action.

It has been alleged that in the wake of this development, the Supervisor, Isaac Darko popularly known as Nana Darko, who is also the point man at the station running affairs, was given funds to settle the debts but refused and pocketed the money.

The worst part of this media fraud is where Nana Darko is reportedly taking 10% of every worker's monthly salary which has led to a mass resignation. Most of these victims are ever ready to talk and expose this 'corrupt worm' called Nana Darko.

Insiders at Agyenkwa FM also revealed that the top management have failed to account for some advertising campaigns paid by some clients.

What's more, debt recovery tactics adopted by management was not working leaving a whole lot of clients to play hide and seek which has affected the station.

One presenter, who plays the Drive Time on Agyenkwa FM, Mr. Edward Yawson Mensah, popularly known in Kumasi as Eddie Ray, was arrested and detained 48 hours after his superiors, led by Nana Darko made false allegations against him.

The police later released him when they found no substance in the matter after the advertisers revealed that Eddie Ray had not taken any money from them.
