A Letter To The President Of The Republic Of Ghana

*SACK* *THE* *CID* *BOSS* *NOW*
Not long ago the then head of the Bureau of National Investigations was relieved of his post after visuals showing a visit to a Ghanaian citizen in a BNI cell by the former President John Mahama.

Speculations were rife that it was because the former President and entourage were allowed to visit the alleged suspect, that was why the BNI boss was fired.

Our security agencies are supposed to protect and ensure the safety and security of alleged suspects in their custody including evidence provided or exhibits in their care.

The alleged statement of Mr. Kwesi Nyantekyi given to the police CID was reportedly leaked to a media house which went viral on the social media.

As a country, since when did we find the statements of suspects leaked to the media even before the matter is put before a competent court of jurisdiction?

The competence, credibility and integrity of the current leadership of the CID have long been a matter of concern to a cross section of Ghanaians.

From the A Plus tape to the circumstances surrounding her appointment, many believed have a lot of question marks begging for answers.

To confirm the suspicion about the competence and integrity of the head of CID, we woke up again to hear and read about an alleged statement of Mr. Nyantekyi, a man at the center of investigations in #12 expose' by Anas Aremeyaw Anas and Tiger Eye PI.

Since when did statements from suspects find themselves in the media.

For us as Ghanaians, we take exceptional view about the conduct of the CID and place the unprofessional conduct at the doorstep of the head of the CID and leadership of the police administration, bearing in mind that this investigation was triggered by no less a person than the Head of State and Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.

There appears to be total breakdown of law and order at the CID, and where is their professionalism?

Now how can the security of suspects be guaranteed under the custody of such officers?

A section of the society has long held the view that, it was since this matter broke that the whole arrest and investigation of Mr. Nyantekyi was staged.

Its time the President demonstrate leadership here and crack the whip to weed out unprofessionalism from our public service.

Mr. President, act Now!
The incident must be properly investigated and the CID boss fired without delay if found guilty
