The Exposer Himself Gets Exposed!

The Exposer Himself Gets Exposed!
07.06.2018 LISTEN

How true is the humorous saying, “Everyday for the thief man, one day for the owner”! So could there not be at least one hundred honest people in Ghana? I am highly disappointed in Anas Aremeyaw Anas, someone I had all along seen as an honest person seriously helping to uproot official corruption from Ghana. Little did I know that he could fall foul to corruption himself if indeed all the allegations against him by Kennedy Agyapong (Hon) can stand the test of time and credibility.

All the while that Anas was hunting corrupt officials, he was capitalising on the vulnerability of his victims and the ignorance of Ghanaians to make money for himself through super corruption. What an irony! With the revelations coming out, should they be true, then Anas is not a hero after all. He was just an opportunist and as corrupt as those he entrapped to reveal their quest for corrupt practices.

I have no problem with his modus operandi since not every target of his fell for his trickeries. The genuine ones that have aversion to corruption even threatened to arrest him when he laid his traps to catch the corrupt judges.

However, I am against himself using his method to exact bribes from his culprits. We can still find a handful of honest persons in Ghana of whom Kennedy Agyapong (Hon), Martin Amidu (Hon), Charles de Graft Nyanor, Kofi Basoah of Asante Juaben/Asante Beposo, Dr Kwabena Duffour and His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo are among the few I have in mind. The track record of the mentioned persons as I am aware of proves beyond doubt that they are honest persons, regardless of the President being seen as practising cronyism when one looks at the composition of his government and other government appointees. As a person, you can never successfully tempt or bait him with bribe.

Should Anas be proven to have compelled his victims to pay him bribes to drop his incriminating findings against them, then he should be made to forfeit all the wealth he has illegally acquired through his coercive methods as being reported by some of his victims. Any national and/or international awards he has earned must be taken away from him for proving himself contrary to what many Ghanaians perceived him to be. Many a Ghanaian saw him as a hero and a role model but little did they know that he was a possible wolf in a lamb’s skin.

Should it be true as alleged against Anas, I shall only advise him to man up and own up. He must come out clean to accept his shortcomings and apologise to Ghanaians and the world for deceiving them. By so doing, he will be pardoned and have once more a little respect in the sight of some Ghanaians. This is because it takes a man to accept their mistakes and then say, sorry.

When at all could corruption be eliminated from Ghana and from the blood of the Ghanaian? Most Ghanaians feed on corruption same as they breathe. Why oh why, Ghanaians?

I tip my hat to Kennedy Agyapong (Hon) for always standing up tall to be counted. I don’t care the words he uses when he becomes emotional when expressing his sentiments. I think we had even better get him a “koboko”, dried animal skin twisted into some form of cane used in Nigeria to cane people, for him to cane some Ghanaians who are so corrupt and unreasonable to understand him when he makes himself clearer by presenting paper and audio-visual evidence.

To Anas, I say, "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time." - Abraham Lincoln.

Sorry, I seem not to be fair to Anas but prejudging him. OK, Anas, is it true that you have dubiously availed yourself of some money you demanded from some suspects to drop your adverse findings against them? Yes or No?

To Anas and all of us, let us bear in mind that the truth will out no matter how long we try to conceal it. “When the chickens come home to roost”, our Christian pastors, Muslim Imams, fetish priests, politicians, judges and legislators as well as the Heads of Civil Services will all be in trouble.
