Koforidua, Sept. 10, GNA - The Eastern Regional Executive Committee of the NPP has announced the opening of nominations for constituency executive elections from Monday, September 12 to Friday September 17. According to the Regional Chairman, Nana Adi Ankamah, a three-member electoral committee had been set up in each constituency to handle the nomination process and urged all those who want to contest for constituency positions to contact the committees for the nomination forms.
On the resolution by the Fanteakwa Youth Wing of the party not to recognize the constituency executive over various allegations made against it, he said the attention of the youth wing had been drawn to the impending elections and asked them to hold their peace till the elections were over.
Nana Adi Ankamah, who was speaking after a regional executive committee meeting at Koforidua on Friday, appealed to all party faithful to exercise restraint to ensure peaceful elections to uphold the image of the party as a disciplined and united one.
