We must emulate the Chinese - Agbogbomefia

The Agbogbomefia of the Ho Asogli State, Togbui Afede XIV urges Ghanaians to emulate the concerted resolution and hard work exhibited by the people and government of China which has made the country one of the fastest growing economies.

He was worried that Ghanaians, over the years had not been fair to themselves by being undisciplined, lazy and not punctual and that all these had contributed to the country's underdevelopment.

According to him all was not lost and advised, “With commitment, sincerity and hard work coupled with adherence to rules and regulations we move this country forward,”

Togbe Afede made these comments on arrival from China after a two-week trip to China.

The trip took him to Shanghai, Yiwu, Hong Kong and Beijing.

He said the trip, which was meant to attract investments to Ghana, was also to afford some Ghanaian businesses the opportunity to learn at first hand how the China had made strides in the fields of agriculture, estate development and ICT, all within some few years.

“ We see China as a country that is capable of sharing its experience with a country like Ghana and we have hope that the experience will open the minds of our people to also develop, Togbui Afede said.

He described the trip as excellent and said a lot of memoranda of understanding-MOUs were signed between the Ghanaians delegation and their Chinese counterparts.

He announced that the group also signed an MOU with Skyworth, a celluar phone and television set manufacturing company and another company that manufactured fuel-dispensing pumps to establish companies in Ghana.

Others included business interests in estate development, hair products, agriculture, mining and tourism.

Togbe Afede said a renowned eye specialist who was impressed by the determination of the group-expressed readiness to build and eye clinic in Ghana.
