Avoid The Use Of Invectives--Rev. Dagadu Advocates

Tamale, May 29, GNA - Reverend Vincent Dagadu, Upper Northern Presbytery Synod Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church-Ghana, said the use of media platforms by politicians to hurl abuse at their opponents could hamper the development of the country.

He said this at the 9th Synod of the Upper Northern Presbytery, which was held in Tamale over the weekend.

The event was held under the theme: 'Breaking New Grounds revisited: Now is Our Turn'.

The event, which brought together representatives from various districts of the Upper Northern Presbytery, discussed amongst others ways to promote the growth of the church.

Reverend Dagadu called on all stakeholders in the political discourse of the country to join hands to bring an end to the prevailing situation.

He appealed to all to support government in the fight against illegal mining saying it should not be politicized but rather used to address issues of water pollution and environmental degradation.

Reverend Dagadu also called on Christians to continue in their efforts to campaign for peace for the country.

Mr Salifu Saeed, Northern Regional Minister, whose speech was read on his behalf, called on religious bodies to support government in its development agenda to improve the welfare of all.

He appealed to religious bodies to use their pulpits to preach against the increase in substance abuse like Tramadol.
