Knights asked to give generously

Bolgatanga, Sept. 6, GNA - The Knights and Ladies of Marshall, a charitable organisation of the Catholic Church, has held its annual conference in Bolgatanga under the theme: "As For Me And My House We shall Serve The Lord."

The over 150 participants came from Tamale, Bawku, Navrongo and Bolgatanga. Addressing the closing session, Sir Knight Commandant Owusu Prempeh, Past President of the Alliance of Catholic Knights advised members to live above reproach in their work of making people appreciate God's present in life. Sir Knight Commandant urged the Knights and Ladies to work for church unity by first ensuring that their marriage lives were morally sound as the family is the basic unit of the church. He said the moral decadence in the society could be traced to broken marriage and the allied consequences of streetism, gross indiscipline and cheating.

He urged Knights and Ladies to give generously to the poor and assist orphans to have access to education and be patriotic enough to play leadership roles not only in the church, but in real politics. Brother Joachum Akuure was installed as Grand Knight for the North East Council comprising Council 28 of Bolgatanga, Council 27 of Tamale, Council 79 of Navrongo and Council 46 of Bawku respectively. 06 Sept. 05
