Consul Reacts To Report “Ghanaian Grieve Over Cost Of Passport”

In respect of my report “Ghanaian Grieve over Cost of Passport,” www.ghanaweb.com: Diasporian News of Sunday, 28 August 2005.

After reading the article, His Excellency Mr. Michel Haddad summoned me to his office for some clarification.

The explication is as follows:

Passport Application Form - $20 (Twenty US dollars)

Passport Processing - $80 (Eighty US dollars)

Missing or Damage Passport - $160 (One hundred and sixty US dollars)

Courier from Beirut to Cairo - $35 (Thirty-five US dollars)

Courier from Cairo to Beirut - $57 (Fifty-seven US dollars).

These are based on an official letter from the head of mission in Cairo dated as of 2003.
