Webster Ghana Graduates Challenged To Be Change Agents

The US Ambassador to Ghana, Robert P. Jackson has urged 2018 graduating students of Webster University, Ghana campus, to be 'change agents' in the society.

He said students were expected to use what they had learnt over their study period to make a positive impact on their society, adding that 'students can achieve this by finding their purpose and embracing it.

'I want them to focus on making a difference. I want them to focus on being change agents. I want them to find something that they are really passionate about,' he said.

According to Mr Jackson, Webster's long history of quality higher education made its graduates not only globally recognised, but critical thinkers who will in no doubt contribute to the development of the country and Africa at large.

He was speaking at the fourth graduation ceremony of Webster University, Ghana campus, for the fourth batch of its post-graduate and undergraduate students.

In all, 14 students who had completed 16 months of studies in Master of Arts in International Relations, Bachelor of Arts in Management, Master of Arts in Business and Management, and Master of Business Administration graduated.

Professor Kwesi Yankah, Minister of State in charge of Tertiary Education said the graduates must leverage on the high quality of education they have received to make positive impact on the society.

'I am in no doubt whatsoever that, regardless of the discipline in which you are graduating today, you have received the best of attention and the best of education... It remains of you, soon to be alumni of Webster University, to go out there and be the best ambassadors not only of the Webster brand, but also to serve as the very embodiment of the excellence that trans-national education can deliver in Ghana,' he said.

Madam Christa Sanders, Director of Webster University, Ghana Campus, said that the graduates had been exposed to extraordinary practical academic work from a great faculty from all corners of the globe.

She said the School was confident that, the graduates had received invaluable educational training to achieve their dreams and become the next generation of global leaders to make an impact in the society.

She added that students were well equipped to meet the demands of an ever-complex world.

The Webster University Ghana Campus, which was established in 2013 have received accreditation from both the National Accreditation Board and the Higher Learning Commission of the US.

The Ghana Campus is also the first in sub-Saharan Africa in Webster's 102-year history.

Webster University, is an American University based in St. Louis, Missouri, and has a network of American-style residential international campuses in nine countries spanning over four continents.
