Society put it to us that,charcater traits we exhibit are inborn/innate; inherited from the parent being.

An oldman once told me otherwise.He offered me a good incite by demanding a few answers from me during a "grandfather-grandson" talk.

“How do you determine that,a newly born baby is visually Impared right from birth ? How do you know a newly born baby is mute right from birth?

How do you determine a thief right from birth? Why hasn’t a boy bit the mother who is breast feeding it at the early stages of breastfeeding but does so in ensuing years?

Why doesn’t a baby have a choice but feed on whatever is given in the womb? Why do we not shy away from people in infancy but do so in our adolescent stage ? Why does one need space when he is guilty of an accusation ? The guilty needs privacy. How did we learn the expositions above ? Is it from the womb or social assimilation ?

Did we learn all these physical,mental and emotional activities in our mothers' belly where we stayed all alone for 9 months feeding on whatever is fed to us by our carrier ?

"Why do we choose dried rice(fried rice) over Tuozaafi in adolescence "?" Is this the influence of society or an inborn/innate quality"? "Was society present"?

Man is altered by society,history,politics & economic phenomena-personal processes,interpersonal processes, our cognitive map and the execution of our memory file.

Prestige and honor is bestowed in society on people who come from supposed honored families.People whose families have earned good Name and riches in the past and present through their deeds and the will of God.

People whose great grandfathers have found their way up the social ladder through local and national politics and their children and grandchildren taking over as in the case of chiefships and successions.

Others are known to have traveled the world and made huge sums of money and investments whose returns are sustaining their children and grandchildren now.

The lesson here is that, charcater traits as expressed by scholarly articles and literature that those “behaviors” are innate is untrue.This piece seeks to explain that,man learns the negative behaviors he exhibit from his relationship with the environment(society).

Society shapes man inwardly and outwardly.Man learns,imbibes and if you want assimilate what he sees around him into his memory file from which he refers to for responses.

Man learns his spontaneous response to stimuli through the experiences expressed by others and through accumulated learning.

How do we copy the responses of society onto our memory file and refer to it for answers and reactions to situation? Its simple. By plugging our peripheral devices to the worldly and global wifi which is free of charge.

These are only imbibed if commanded my our mental computers to process and store to be utilized later in the future – recall command.

Society doesn’t make us. We make society. Society doesn’t shape us,rather,we shape society.The solution to a better society lies within our whims and realms.

We are society and we can change us and when we change us,we change society.
