JoyNews, The Enemy Of The Northern Region...

JoyNews of Multimedia Group Ltd, a powerful and highly respected Media house from where most of us source information from, because of the "credibility and authenticity" of their information but on the contrary, permit me to chastise its recent stereotype and misinformation on the clash between Military and the Police which happened in the Tamale Metropolis. JoyNews has tagged us as violent people. In fact I am disappointed in Joynews especially with their assertion ‘’looking at the violent nature of the northern region’’

Why should this be part of your story, it's needless, I mean per your reputation and standards. It adds nothing but rises tempers of your audience especially me in particular who is from the northern region. We are leaving the era of passive listenership or readership. "VIOLENT NATURE OF THE NORTHERN REGION" please if I may ask, According to who? Which research? Which security agency?

Oh, now you're National Security?
Poor gatekeeping!! Let me tell you what you as a media house has actually done to us those from the Northern Region, If we apply for a job with other regions and there is an interview, trust me we are more likely not to be pick because what they will always say is that, even it's in JoyNews. Please don't scare investors and don't cause panic within listeners.

An issue came up which is of national interest and instead of you as a media house trying to report it in an amicably and professional way, you rather left it and tagged a particular region as a violent region. JoyNews referred to us, we the people of northern region as violent people because of a clash between the military men and the police in the Tamale Metropolis and as to why they had the clash I don’t know, but I think Joynews owed us the responsibility of making the cause known to us right? but they did not. It looks funny how one situation in the Metropolis has to do with tagging the whole region especially something of an unpleasant nature. I am sure by now some people are also somewhere defending them that the northern region is a violent region, well that is their opinion _but_ we shouldn’t forget when it comes to matters concerning a particular tribe, religion or region they are always sensitive to address and we must always choose our words carefully. And to the least doubt even if the northern region is a violent region but it shouldn’t have been a media house like Joynews sharing per its professional standards. Its absolutely condemnable.

JoyNews, for your information we the people of northern region are disappointed in you. You as a media house know what stereotype can do in this our modern world. (Power of the Media) To me and some people, we taught you people were genuine in executing your duties as a media house, that is defending people whose rights are being abused, trying to explain things that are being misunderstood by others and most importantly removing stereotypes from the minds of people using your medium.

Violence as defined by Cambridge Advance Learner’s Dictionary is ‘’ actions or words which are intended to hurt people’’ if people can relate this definition well with what joynews has posted will be good. JoyNews has successfully framed northern region as a violent region and it will be very difficult for us to defend ourselves that we are not violent people. It looks sad that the media house that supposed to defend us as not violent people is the same media house that is now tagging us as violent people. But mostly I always find it difficult to understand things like this one, some people think is normal for joynews to write about the northern region this way but definitely think is wrong for them to protest. JoyNews you can still make things normal by doing the honorable thing……
