Mobile Giants MTN has launched a new Insurance policy named 'Recharge with care'. The telecoms company which says it wants to show more love and care for its customers announced a GH3,000 life insurance cover for its subscribers who sign up for the service.

At the launching ceremony which took place at the Dr. Mensah lorry terminal in Kumasi, several traders who queued up to be signed up for the new form of insurance were briefed by Mr. Charles Osei Akoto, Head of Technical Services MTN Northern Business Sector.

He said many people seldom have time to walk into offices to register for insurance services and others also sometimes find the deductions too high to sign up for. Looking at this situation, and thinking about the health and well being of their clients, they decided to come up with an insurance service which will not only be affordable but accessible anytime.

“This service is to enable subscribers care for themselves and their partners in their times of need”. He explained.

With a monthly deduction of two cedis he noted, subscribers of the service popularly called ARYO can have access to funds when they are admitted at the hospital or a substantial amount to cater for funeral expenses the customer or contributor may have been involved.

These services they call my health and my life and the customer is free to enjoy from any of them.

The delightful aspect is that customers could sign up for the insurance cover in the comfort of the homes or work places and the deductions being made from 50p to GH2 per month as opted by the client.

The Head of Sales for Met-Life Insurance Company which collaborated with MTN to design the insurance package, Mr. Emmanuel Gyim noted that subscribing to the service meant planning for an easy access to claims and funds at needful times and emergency situations.

He said they had carefully and intentionally designed the insurance service to be less cumbersome and easily accessible to help everybody at every phase of life 'so that we will be of help to them all'.

The launch of the insurance package is part of Ashantifest, a festival by MTN which is held every May in the Ashanti region.

The 'Recharge with Care' comes after a similar insurance package which MTN launched last year called 'Send with care'.
